Lesbos Island
The island of Lesbos, situated in the Aegean Sea, close to Asiatic Turkey, was colonized by the Aeolian, one of four major groups of Greek tribes who, according to tradition, descended from Aeolian son of Hellen and grandson of Deucalion. The first king of the Aeolian island was Lesbo, son of Lapita (king of Thessaly) and grandson of Aeolian.
